I just separated my chicks because of space but now both sets of chicks mostly huddle together sitting. They get up to eat and drink, but no more kicking bedding and pecking. My chicks are 3 weeks old and the temperature is around 85. Could they be missing the other chicks?

Yes, they most likely are stressed being separated from their flock mates. It's not recommended because they'll have to re-establish pecking order each time you separate and combine them after a time. Any chance you can find something to use as a larger brooder to keep them all together?

I never thought about disturbing the pecking order. I'll try coming up with some way to keep them together.

Yes keeping them together would be good! This is my set up and there are also 6 chicks. They are soooo messy!
