I was at the "Six Flags" located between Dallas and Ft. Worth ( perhaps that is Arlington ? ) about 57 years ago.
I almost FELL OUT of "the Hammer"....( a high-altitude Amusement Ride )...but my cousin ( a year older ) grabbed me by my britches and kept me inside the thing.
NEVER WENT BACK !
I doubt that those britches have "dried-out" yet.
THE Curmudgeon
I live in Arlington and grew up 2 miles from Six Flags. I used to spend ALOT of time out there during my Jr. High years! I think it is pretty much like any other amusement park, if you like the rides you'll love it. Now that I'm older it doesn't hold the same thrill for me. I have taken my 9 year old out there a couple of times though and it's fun for me to see her discover the rides.
Right now the heat is super bad. They do keep the misters and fans going but if you don't like to get hot, wait for Holiday in the Park to go. If you don't have any kind of passes then be prepared to spend some serious cash out there. Parking is outrageous, I think it is up to $15 or $20 now just to park. If you go, go early and stay late so you can get your monies worth. Buy one of the souvenier cups if you plan to drink cokes, they can pay for themselves in just a day easy out there. Also, you can go into any of the places that serve food out there and ask for a cup of ice water. They have to give you water for free. Don't wear socks if you want to ride the water rides, your feet will hate you for it if you do. Don't forget your sunscreen and sunglasses!![]()
