Six month old stopped laying

i don’t know whether or not I should be concerned. My hen , along with two other of the same age started laying at about four and a half months old. We had a hot spell and my barred rock appeared to really be suffering from the heat. Her comb flopped over and she stopped laying. It has cooled off but she’s still not laying. It’s been at least a month since she laid. Her comb is looking better, still red, she’s still squatting for me, but no eggs. Should I be concerned?

Juvenile moltings are done by about 6 months.
The first adult molt usually happens around 18 months,
give or take a few months depending on geographical location,
but younger birds can have a partial molt before then.
I had a pullet have a partial molt at 9 months, and have read of many others.

Do you free range?
Vet did a fecal float?
Have you checked for external parasites?

Just had a fecal float done last week which came out negative. I can feel an egg inside of her. She is hanging out around the nesting boxes and panting. We do free range but under supervision, so I know she is not laying elsewhere.

Sounds like she might benefit from an epsom salt soak then...never done it so can't advise exactly how.
She laid an egg! I’m so relieved. I checked for an egg earlier, and lubed her up pretty good, so maybe that helped. Thanks for all the advice, with her excessive open mouthed breathing, I was getting concerned.

Great!
Was it soft...exceptionally large....or?

Smaller than her peers’ eggs, kind of glassy, like porcelain. She has laid ones in the past with a little hole in the end. I’m still concerned something isn’t right with her,,but I can’t put my finger on it.

It can be really hard to tell, let alone do anything about it, sometimes you just can't do either. :fl
