I obtained 3 Golden Sex Link chicks from the local nursery. They got them from Myers. All 3 chicks were said to be hatched on May 24. A few days later, I bought two Copper Maran chicks from a local farm, hatched May 25.

Of the 3 exlinks, one is like 3x the size. She also has much whiter coloring. The other 2 sexlinks are almost identical, one having a bit more browning in her feathers as they come in.

Of the to Copper Marans, one is noticeably smaller than the other, and the smallest by far, of all of them.

Is it normal to see this much difference in sizing? I am particularily interested in the size difference of the Sexlinks. Ashley, just towers over everyone else, yet was hatched the same day and they were all the same size when I got them on May 28.

I agree. Looks like you got a cornish cross meaty and a bantam as well. At feed stores...chicks seem to end up getting all mixed up. And a lot of the time the birds are a mix lot to begin with right from the hatchery. My local feed store (the one that I actually like) ordered 300 chicks of 5 types... but there were 50 extras that they had no idea what they were. I got 5 of them... (all but 1 were boys... darn it) and 1 turned out to be a cute little who knows what (EE prolly...). But it looks like they see feed store orders as a way to get rid of their odds and ends.
