SIZE OF CHICK

can anyone tell me why this 2 month old little girl is so small. I have two others that are a month older and already tower over her. She seems fine but she was an extra that got tossed on with some Cochins. She has really bonded with one of the male black Cochins. They are inseparable but she is very timid and he is very friendly.

Hmm, with a tail like that, I'd say a Serama or Game bantam of some description. Not sure though... Sorry.

She is adorable! Not sure on the breed but a Bantam would be smaller than your other full-size chickens.

My daughter’s little Silkie Bantam Girl is so tiny that our full-sized pullets look like jumbo sized next to her.

Agree she is some kind of small bantam breed. Hard to tell exactly from the photos, it would be better to see her standing naturally from the side. If serama her tail should go up and her wings should point down slightly. Seramas are the tiniest breed of chicken.

Thanks I was concerned . She is actually smaller than my 2 month old silkies but she seems healthy

Look up Red Pyle Old English Game Bantam hen and see how she compares. I just love my Old English Game Bantams. They are real little characters, even the shy ones.
