Size of Nesting Boxes?????

Do you know what size and type of chickens they are? How many are you getting?

For wood nests, I say minimum of 12 by 12 by 12. You can also used 5 gallon buckets. Sometimes bigger is better. I gave mine a dog house and plastic tote. They love them.

Mine are being built right now and they're going to be 14" tall, 14" deep and 12" wide. I have buff orpinton, aracauna, and black australorp breeds.

Will 1 square foot work for each bird? I was told that from someone locally I've got 1 set of 8 built already they look small will that be OK?

I have two black sex links and they're good sized girls. Our nesting boxes are 14 x 14 x 14 and they do very well in them.
