I have 6 ducks; Rouen & 2 swedish mix drakes, and a pekin, cayuga, & indian runner hen.

Currently they are co habiting in a 25x25 run with 11 chickens. Everyone has plenty room to eat, drink, sleep, no fights so far

however i am going to separate so i can have the water set up a little different. I have enough fencing to either do a 7x20 run, or a 10x15 run. Im leaning toward the 7x20 so i can have the water pool and waterer on the deep end. And then there house and nesting box toward the front.

However open to suggestions on size. They only free range in the 1/2 acre pond on the weekend, as its almost impossible to put them up as they prety much stay on the opposite corner of pond and by the time i get there they swim to where I was 🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️
If i wasn’t covered in predators that i couldnt control it wouldnt be an issue to free range 100% time.

my other option is to move there house & run to a overflow ditch thst flows out pond, but its a ways away from house and i wouldnt feel they would be protected as closer to house next to the chicken run.

Thanks in advance for suggestions

Thats what i was hoping , thanks!

id like to move it to the opposite side of pond, and they could free range every afternoon to go swimming but the ditch doesn’t always have running water and id basically have to put stakes on both sides to keep them from going under wire netting at it

Redid nesting box today. 22x48 base. 15x15 boxes, 2” lip on front to keep shavings in. Box is 16 tall in front sloped to 15” in rear so water runs backwards. Roof is 24x48.

roof had something dropped on it at one point is why that front left cornee looks lower. Its a nesting box; not perfect but the ducks will never know!
