Size of the nest box.

Trying to build a mini - coop for maybe two or three chickens.
Anybody have a rule of thumb for the minimum dimensions on a nest box?

All I was able to see from the Coop Design section were the Coops / Incubator / Brooders.

you can use an old milk crate for nest boxes too
