Hi ,

I was going to buy some pre-made aviary panels - which are just 2x1 strips covered with 19g wire mesh. These are 6' x 3' and would be the cheapest option to get a quick run set up.
However I am concerned the 19g wire mesh won't be cat/fox proof (We only really have those to worry about here, being in the UK) - I am therefor thinking of making my own framed run - little bit more expensive but hopefully worth while.
I have found someone selling 2.7mm wire mesh at a really good price - only problem is that it is spaced at 2.5" squared is this OK or is it too large of a gap?

Too large of a gap for me personally and what's on my property. I always found building my own WELL worth it. Costs less in the end

2x1 strips, does this describe the framing of the panels and is t metal or wood framing?
Is the 2 and 1 inches or cm or....?
How big are the holes in the mesh?

Not clear on this either.
2.7mm is the diameter of the wire, and 2.5" is the size of the the holes?
2.5 holes might be fine for fox and cat....but not stoat.

Hi, sorry for the poorly written question - I was in a bit of a hurry.

Yes, I meant the framing.

2"X1" frame work with 1.0mm (19 GAUGE) 1"X 1/2" galvanised welded mesh

That is an example of the panels, I could get 10 of these to make a 12 x 6 foot run for less/similar price to what it would cost to build my own.

Yes, correct the diameter of the wire is 2.7mm and the gaps are 2.5" wide.
I do not think we have any other predators other than the domestic cats and the odd fox - with that said I would be scared of one of the ducks poking her head out and then for the cat to get to it that way :(

These look pretty good!
I'd go with this over the stuff with larger holes.
