sizzle, frizzle, and frazzle???

Blue Hen, I am also breeding sizzles. I put some breed pens together today,the hens started laying again. In one pen I have a blue splash silkie over a blue splash cochin,she is a frazzle. And I have a white silkie over a white frizzle cochin. I wanted to start with birds from someone already a few or several generations into the sizzle project, but I have been unsucessful. What colors are you breeding? Would like to see some pics. Will I get all frizzled chicks from my frazzle? Sizzle breeders lets keep this thread going.

I was really hoping this thread would be loaded down with frizzled chicken pictures

so, I'll contribute a few in hopes of reviving it! I've just gotten into frizzles, total newbie here with these guys. So, I picked up a frizzle and a frazzle off of craigslist. I've gone Cochin crazy, and when I saw an ad for free frizzled Cochins I just couldn't help myself

the little frazzle almost got left where he was (he definately has a face only a mother could love, but I'm a mother....so what can I say). He was set to be culled that very day, and I couldn't leave him to that fate

I know my frazzle is quite homely, and y'all can all feel free to have a good laugh at his expense, but I think the frizzle I got along with him is rather nice. He's absolutely HUGE! So here they are.
This is Kickin' Chicken, who was almost a very unfortunate frazzle:

Chick is wet in these pictures, so his feathers are weighed down and missing their curl. Both Chick Norris and Kickin' Chicken are LF Cochins. Chick is about 2x bigger than Kickin' Chicken

I am also new to the frizzles. I said that I would never own a frizzle. Then I seen the sizzles and I wanted to have some of those.When I started looking for frizzled cochins and silkies to begin my project, I became hooked on the frizzles. I raised polish for years along with some side projects, I sold all those and now my silkies and cochins and sizzle project are all that I have. Future projects are lavender sizzles,lavender frizzle cochins,and mottled sizzles.

Sorry about the not-so-great shots... when I get back to my flock, I'll take better pictures. These are 8th Generation Sizzles. Got them from an amazing breeder here in Northern California. The black one is a "S"izzle the blue one is a "s"izzle.

When I went to pick up some eggs that I won in an auction by emvickery, she added some Sizzle eggs from her flock. This is an exciting process to join! I'm hoping to get most of them to hatch - though hovering over the eggs like a broody Silkie might not help, it certainly won't hurt if I keep my thinking straight!

Love the pics. WeHoBoi, How did you get the big crests on your sizzles? After doing an internet search on sizzles. There is some that are infusing polish for bigger crests. My plans for the lavender sizzle are to use lavender cochins,lavender d'uccles and lavender and black silkies. Had plans for a red sizzle but my red frizzled cochin chicks that I received this week were not even feather legged. I have started getting eggs from my white sizzle pen. Keep the pics coming.

A frizzle is not a breed of chicken, but it is a condition in which the feathers turn outward to to genetics. Many breeds can be frizzled. These are frizzled Cochin hens:

A frazzle is a chicken with 'over-fizzled' feathers that are very brittle and tend to break easily, causing them to go bald. That is why breeding a frizzle with a frizzle can sometimes be catastrophic.
