Sizzle/Satin Genetics?

Frizzled crossed with smooth gives you 50% frizzled and 50% smooth.
Frizzled crossed with silkie gives you 50% frizzled and 50% smooth.
Silkie crossed with smooth gives you 100% smooth.

F20+?
It shouldn't take anyone 20 generations to get a frizzled sizzle.
I would think you could do just about everything wrong and still get there in half that time.

A true 20+ generation project is almost unheard of as far as I'm concerned. That would be 10+ years if your breeding all season every year.
I understand its often said it is a 10 year project to create a new breed that breeds true but not many actually follow through with a project that long. And with something like a frizzled sizzle its really not that complexed. All you're doing is bringing in the frizzle gene then breeding back to silkies every generation. It could be done easily in 5 generations if someone knows what they're doing.
I'm curious of any of the sizzle breeders that are F20+. Never seen one myself.

I bought eggs from a lady that has birds F20+ and she still can hatch chicks with defaults and such. It takes a lot of time to get perfect birds.

I made my own sizzle by breeding a partridge silkie to a black frizzle. I was lucky enough that the only egg to hatch was frizzled he LOVES to fly! I'll toss him and he comes running back to do it again!

If you breed a frizzled Cochin to a silkie, you can get F1 birds, which means first generation. You have to have F20+ birds to get true frizzled sizzles. When you grout start out you get ‘mutts’ that have incorrect coloring, feathers, ex...

Frizzled Satin and Smooth Satin StartsEx) Frizzled Cochin X Silkie= the pick of this mating would be chosen and bred back to pure Silkie to get desired Silkie traits aporox f12 to f18 + . Silkies with normal frizzled feathering Are called Frizzled Satins. And Silkies with normal smooth feathering Are called Smooth Satins, Silkies at this stage with Silkie feathering are just that, Silkies.

No such thing as sizzle. First generation crosses are not even considered silkies.but after many generations . A Silkie with normal chicken feathers that are frizzled would be a frizzled Satin. And a Silkie with normal. Chicken feathers that are not frizzled would be a smooth satin. Any chicks before generation F12 and most likely higher . Would just be a cross . Like a Cochin X. Silkie cross. You have to breed for many generations to get all i I f the Silkie trauu I ya correct abd breed out traits of the other breed used to start project.

These guys are from Mom's that are Silkies & their Dad is a Frizzle, I hatched out 5 out of 8 eggs, but sadly one didn’t make it, I kept 2 & gave 2 back to the friend I got the eggs from. I didn't get a picture of the Mom's but their dad is pictured below

So you have Silkies & frizzled Silkies with non barbed fur like feathers and Satins & frizzled Satins with barbed regular feathers like a Cochin. The 1st collage below shows all 4 feather types & the last column shows cockerels in each feather type. The 2nd collage shows pullet & cockerel in each feather type with the addition of Satin Naked Necks. The birds in the pictures are +30 generations of breeding.
