Sizzle?

Yup, at a week old the feathers start to turn up at the ends. By 8 weeks they are visibly frizzled. These arent silkies, just frizzle but you can see how frizzled they are. They are 2 weeks old

The breeder said they have the frizzle gene. If they don't end up with super turned feathers will they still carry the frizzle gene to their offspring and risk a curly?

I agree, my frizzle's will start getting their first upturned feathers around 1 week old. Some a few days eatlier, some a few days later. Theirs are 8 weeks? They should be frizzled alot by now.
No experience with sizzles tho.
Here's my 4 week frizzle for comparison

Now at 5.5 weeks he is frizzed everywhere but his head, no pic tho
...if yours were sizzles they would look like it by now, I'm fairly certain.
Again tho, no experience with sizzles, just frizzles...[/QUOTweek

Mine definitely don't curl like that. I think mine are considered satins

Hi Chelsea. I have bred Silkies for awhile now and post to the Silkie thread regularly. You have Silkies not Frizzles. They either carry the frizzle Gene or they dont. If they have the gene they will be frizzled if they don't they won't be. A Satin as they are called now will have smooth or frizzle feathering and all sapects of a Silkie, meaning the black or blue skin, five toes and Walnut comb. I think that's how it works. It really gets confusing because they are trying to make the Satin Silkie its own breed.

Interesting so the sizzles are called Satins now?

What breed is this little one?? I have one with similar coloring. I can't figure out what breed she is. I just know that she is a sizzle around 5 weeks. 20180511_222839.jpg 20180511_223858.jpg 20180511_222849.jpg
