Might ask your local University Extension about the possibility.

Sounds like bear habitat to me.
Where in relation to your coop did you find the scat?
Might want some hot wire around your birds housing.

Can you assist in identifying this skat? Not in area we should have bears, but.....About 6” X 2 3/4”
