Skinny chicken mystery

Welcome :frow Sounds like you checked and fixed a few issues already. Are their crops full at bedtime? Empty in the morning? Did they have mites or lice prior to Elector treatment? They may have to regain weight if they had parasites and were recently treated

Their crops are full in the evening and empty in the morning. The hens crops are very full in the evening. They catch a few frogs each (very small ones) everyday. They eat a lot. I didn’t find any lice or mites on them before treatment but the one hen who regularly needs butt baths was the reason I treated everyone.

Deworming treatment needs to be repeated one week after initial dose or the eggs hatch into adults and restart the issue. When you say you wormed them, did you give it twice or only the first time?

I wormed them properly. I used Valbazen. 1/4 cc for pullets 1/2 cc for hens. Once and then a second time 10 days later.

Hi and welcome to BYC :frow We're so happy you've decided to join us:ya

What are the ingredients in your feed? Do feed them free choice (fill a feeder and keep it full all of the time)? Is it grain or pellets?

I’ll have to check the ingredients. I do feed them free choice until they roost. Then they get the food back in the morning. It’s crumble.
