Skinny chickens

I don't know about crumble/pellets, but my chickens also wouldn't eat their actual feed very often before. Someone on here suggested adding water and maybe a little apple cider vinegar to it, and that worked for me! Now in the mornings I bring them a dish of their food with water and a splash of vinegar; looks like oatmeal, smells gross, but they gobble it up. I still give mine treats when they roam too far and they need to come back though.

I used to put a little cider vinegar in their water. Maybe they miss the taste. I'll give that a try.
 
And that's why I was surprised my vet wanted me to switch to pellets. The ingredients are the same as the crumble. Now I'm really confused. :)

If the ingredients and nutrition panel are the same, they're the same feed in different shapes. Many chickens seem to prefer crumble - might be easier to eat - and many owners prefer pellets since they tend to be less messy.
