Skinny, shabby looking flock - worms, mites, molt, more?

It's unlikely you'll see worms in poop after worming. Most of the time the worms are absorbed as protein in the digestive tract.

Do you have any feather pickers? You'll have to observe them to find out if there's any feather picking going on. You can put blinders/peepers on the pickers and that will put a stop to the picking.
Put Nu-Stock on Big Red's rear end. It will heal the area and prevent picking once a hen gets a mouthful of that stuff. It can be found in the equine section at a feed store. Shake the tube well and wear disposable gloves when applying it.

I forgot to mention that you can use the Nu-Stock for scaly leg mites as well, dont forget to wear disposable gloves when applying it to the feet and legs. You will also have to put a light coat of Nu-Stock on the roosts where the scaly leg mite infected birds sleep at night.

Thank you!, Dawg53! I will get some nu-stock tomorrow. His butt has never looked like this. The two flocks 19 + 13 have been together about a month now and I am not seeing anyone be excessively picking but we’re remodeling the house and my observation time is much less. I’ll try to watch more over the next few days.

I read a lot about scaly mites and some things even said dip in gasoline and then put ointment on. Is that a necessary step?

Second dose of Valbazen given. Everyone gained some weight back from 10 days ago. Yay. Heard some coughs or sneezes so now using vet rx and denegard. Hopeful all on the mend.

This flock is doing me in. I did 5 days of Denegard and still have some sneezing/coughing/rattling sounds. No other symptoms of respiratory issues. I’m processing some meatbirds in a couple weeks. Any not well by then will be culled. I don’t know anything else to try esp in a large flock.

I still have crappy looking feathers which will stay that way til molting time, I guess. They have never molted. However, the combs and wattles still look excessively dry. They just don’t look great. Weight is holding for the past month but no more gains. Photos attached. I’m considering another bath as that was the only day their combs looked good and bright and waxy.

Within past couple months…
- Valbazen two doses
- 3 weeks permethrin birds and coop
- 3 rounds topics ivermectin. For suspected Depluming mites.

Ideas? I like these birds but the one thing after another is doing me in. My meatbirds, chicks, and other flock are ok.
