Hello,
I'm Anna and i have my first 2 EE hens.
The thing is that they arent used to being handled, not used to have people in their run.
I sit with them for 2 times a day feeding them near me so they have to walk past me.
Are there more things i can do?
Are there some treats that chicken are crazy about?
I hope you have some good ideas;)

I raised my EE's from days-old chicks, and honestly, they were pretty skittish until just recently -- when they started laying. I had brooded them in my house, handled them every day, and still, they weren't really friendly.

All of my girls enjoy mealworms, but they also adore grapes. Tossing grapes toward them is a great game as they race to see who wins the tasty prize. And, now. the EE's are willing to come right up and snatch a grape out of my hand.

Food and time will be your best tools, I think, in making friends with your girls.

Food can help....but time of presence is what really does the trick.
Get a book and sit out there, doling out a few treats once in while.
Also going out frequently and just walking near and/or thru run (without treating) then leaving again. Calmly quietly no big deal, will get them used to your presence.

The thought crossed my mind but she is the lowest in the pecking order. And their former owner said they where all laying ( he had 6 i bought 2):barnie hope they wil start laying soon and otherwhise crosse my fingers till spring:fl they are 8 months old now
