Skunk in live trap= step 2?

All I did was whistle to see it move. If that scares the stink out of it , that is it's problem! If you think wild animals are predictable get a chimpanzee!

Ive never seen skunks that wired and ive trapped ALOT of skunks. Ive even released mis caught skunks out of legholds set for somthing else and not been sprayed. Heck I kept one as a pet along with 2 baby coons the skunk was as friendly as a house cat! U may have a bunch of ( teenagers) or a diease going around. I probably trap 50 or so skunks a year nuisance control and have never seen whats you are describing happen. They are VERY passive animals unless cornered or truely scared. Even then they shot more then enough warning before letting go. Agitated body language , foot stomping tail raising. Now I probably cursed myself and the 1st skunk of spring will blast me lol. Even IF that happened id stick to my ways because in 15 years and if I had to guess well over 500 skunks if one gets me I deserved it lol
