Went out tonight and there he or she was in the grass next to the ducks. Will they go after them and I do have about 60 chickens out there too??????????

It will go after your birds.

How do you get rid of them??? I live on a state game refuse and I don't think I can shoot it.

the only thing I could do with them is trap them then dispose of them. And the best way to trap them was using raw eggs, just sitting in the trap. I believe they are members of the weasel family and so will act like one at times eating an easy kill for an easy meal. I know they love eggs. They also carry quite a few disease. In fact most states wont relocate or "rescue" skunks because of the rabies and stuff they carry and will dispose of them in other ways. So you might want to check about getting rid of them, the State might not mind.

If you have to shoot a skunk remember one thing and don't forget, if after you shot he is able to raise his tail he will spray.( 3 days of stink city)

It maybe be a sad thing, but that is why I prefer to drop them, cage and all, in the irrigation ditch. Next day pull the cage out and dispose of the body. Not as smelly at all. If you drag the cage slowly over to the ditch they most often wont spray, but I usually have a tarp over half the cage already, so I can hide while I drag them. But don't forget the rope!! You better have it already tied to the cage and the end of it a ways off so you don't have to get close to get a hold of the rope. And keep the dogs away
