A few days ago, I posted about my dog smelling of skunk and I was worried that one was "scoping out" my chicken coop.

Also a few days ago (I'm really not sure how many days) I saw a little half grown mockingbird under a tree and bushes inside the yard. I left him alone since it seemed a safe spot - fenced yard by the pool - no dogs. This morning I noticed in the exact spot were the remains of the baby mockingbird.

I'd guess about half of his feathers and really nothing else except a full backbone.

Would that likely be a skunk kill? I'd think a roaming cat would have taken it off somewhere.

I'm worried about my girls. Hope they are predator safe.

You are probably right about the skunk. They catch and kill chickens, and since your dog had gotten sprayed its proof that they are around there. I would get a live trap as soon as possible and keep an eye out on your birds.
