Skunks?

I have been having a skunk come around trying to eat my barn cats food shows no aggression towards the birds or cat. I was wondering what were some ways to repell skunks. I think he is blind because i walked in on him tonight and he didn't spray or run away.

A .22 long rifle repels them pretty well!

The skunk is probably not blind. Some don't care about being seen and will do nothing until provoked. It is best to try to get it gone by whatever way you choose.

Here in Texas, skunks are known to be a carrier of rabies. If he's not running from you, he may be sick and needs to be disposed of. I will dispose of every one I see on my property. Bigoldude is right, a .22 will take care of it. I prefer a shotgun from a safe distance. I keep all feed sealed in a container and what is out to feed is up on a table. I've tried bright lights in the shed and in the coop to keep those pole cats away but it hasnt helped. I have found a skunk and our cat in the shed at the same time, eating from the same feeder.
