Skydiving

We have an "older crowd" that hangs out and jumps on a regular basis. One guy I jump with is 82! I have jumped in Indiana at a place called Jerry's Skydiving Circus! Good people with a good vibe! I am hoping to make my 400th jump within the next 30 days! If you get a chance get out there and do it again!

Most Glorious Spousal Unit would still jump if he could. Back injury (not skydive related).

I was always a nervous wreck on the days he went - didn't calm down until I got the phone call that he was coming home. It was even worse when he did his HALO (High Altitude Low Opening, for all non jumpers; jumped from 28 thousand feet, with oxygen).

I was a pilot, but then eyesight got bad. Such is life.

Now we have a boat

For anyone who read this thread I thought I'd mention an option.

I lived in Union City CA for.........ok decades. Anyway they started building a huge wind tunnel and while they were working on it, my husband Bill reserved. Turned out it was the 3rd built in the country for anyone to be able to use. If you should on our sidewalk and looked straight down the street, there was a park at the end of our block. Depending where you were looking you could see their lights through the trees, less than 2 blocks away.

They have competitions there, people use it for fun or for training. My family has done birthday parties there. LOL The tube comes up there the middle and you can stand or sit on the deck and watch whoever is inside. Heck you can watch from outside the building. My kids (grown) all wanted my husband to come and watch them when they went. He always tried to talk them into jumping once they came out.

Anyway, I thought I'm let some who don't think they can do the whole thing and jump, here's something that can help you feel safer.

The one in the Bay Area out here is "I FLY SF", It's on Alvarado, right off the 880 freeway. Not sure where the others were, but if I remember he said they started in Arizona. Probably a few of them other places now, so maybe some of you could try that. The first 3 were all the same owners, due to the patent. Just search indoor skydiving or wind tunnels.

grew up scared of heights,. went to Jump School is Georgia when I was in the Marines, and have been hooked ever since.. although I havent been in a few years, I need to go get my skydiving card:) then do it more often..:)

I think I have seen some places like that, with the wind tunnel... but to me it doesnt look as fun:)

I have also done some jumps in GA! The wind tunnel is a blast! My kidslove it and my 18 year old can fly circles around me! NC has one that we have made sveral visits to! Baptist1611.....how many jumps do you have?

I live next to Perris Calif. they do a lot of skydiving there. I did the wind tunnel but I wont jump from a plane. every weekend they have 5 to 7 planes full of jumpers that all jump at the same time. last year there was a Russian tourist that jumped and a couple days later they started to wonder why his rental car was still in the parking lot, a couple weeks later a farmer found him. Last year i think they had 3 more die one was a instructor a friend of mines brother. So I will do the wind tunnel and I'll watch the ones jump from the planes. They do make some nice shapes.
