I have tried to RP with some of the newer RP's, and the new people within them, but I find it very boring, with small dialogue and nothing happening. What happened to the RPer's with a twist of evil in their characters? Characters with secret wishes, and secret friendships. I feel that the depth has dissapeared. I find myself drawn to an MMORG game because the people are interesting.
X2. And I second DL2399's statement of "I don't know why I haven't left them all already". I tried to leave a while back, but almost felt a sense of obligation to stay here because of old friends. Some few people actually felt sad that I was leaving, and I stayed just for their sake. New roleplays started, and there was a spark of hope that maybe one of them would be interesting worth my time. (Nobody take offence, please!)
Now I am left questioning whether it was worth staying in them after all. I think I will just stay in touch with friends via PM and the Chatroom and try leaving again. I've considered making a new account to start anew (Dumb, I know...) so that I can converse intelligently with other adults (yes, I am, believe it or not, old enough to be considered an adult or at least a teenager) on here without being regarded as 'some kid who has nothing better to do than roleplay'. (I am NOT saying that's what any of you are. Again, do not take offence!)
I used to be so much more on here, I was regarded with respect. If you look at some of my very first threads and posts, you will see that. Now I'm almost ashamed that all I've been contributing to this wonderful knowledgebase to chickenkeeping is roleplaying. That's perfectly fine for those of you who are novice chicken keepers looking for a cool place to hang out and socialize with young, like-minded people, but I originally joined with much more for myself in mind. I am
not a novice chicken keeper, and I have
lots of experience, and I have read about chickens until my eyeballs feel like they're coming loose!
I look at how one of my closest friends was treated when she first joined, then I see how she was treated just recently. Adult users (not going to stir trouble and name names here) literally kept making derogitory remarks about her age, saying she was a kid and therefore is ignorant, when in reality she is a young adult with lots of experience keeping poultry of all shapes and sizes. I would pull up some of the nasty things they said to her, but I might be banned for trolling and I am not really interested in having that happen. For all I know, stepping on my soapbox right now could get me into trouble, but I felt the need to say this.
To all of those that bothered reading through all of this: I want to leave the roleplays now. You can find me elsewhere, likely on a new account. I will only tell a select few who really want to know the account's name.
That's the same kind of stuff that has been happening to me that really doesn't make me feel like staying on BYC.
