as shadowflax picked at the frozen grass she remembered that dreadful day. she had been sleeping in the valley with rocket and bill. a terrible earsplitting, blood curtling scream had rent the air. no one knew for sure but they had figured sun had gone for a walk with her foal outside of the valley. the wolves had gotten the foal poor blind sun had tried in vain to save it, the wolves had got her too. once they had got there wits togeather they had run to check it out but when they got there the foal had been drug off by the wolves and sun had lain there dying. it had left shadowflax in severe mental pain, sun had been her only real friend (aside from rocket
