For those who would like stallions..I've got a thought..herds of bachelor stallions are very real. Colts and fillies are born about evenly, and all those colts have to go somewhere because, yes, I agree, being realistic means not single mates and almost as many stallions as mares in a herd.

Just as a suggestion..I think it would be more realistic if the majority of horses are mustangs..maybe a few of other breeds that escaped or something but wild horses are usually mustangs, or specific breeds of feral horses. Like any of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_horse. Just a thought!
