Gemma smiled. "Thanks, Esther," the words puzzled and surprised her. For so long her blindness had been considered a fault, a horrible deformation that barred her from normal life. Yet Esther's words cheered her. "But I am different. We're all different. It's what makes us who we are. I'm just . . . a little different than everybody else," she stopped, realizing she was rambling.
