Rocket raised his head. His deep chestnut mane falling in his face. His golden auburn eyes watched with interest at something that slunk around the edge of the valley. It was a light sandy brown. With vicious fang like teeth. It's deep green eyes watched shadow. Rocket watched, he let out a small warning whinny to shadow and dashed forward.
Esther heaved a great sigh, slowly opening her rich brown eyes. She had fallen asleep under the willow, and awoken by the delicate branches swaying and ticking her coat. Lifting her delicate head, Esther looked out at the valley of Skyherd. So full of cheer, and happiness it once was, now it was just a barren land. The grass was soft and lush, growing higher as horses did not so oftenly munch upon it. The trees grew, as they always, but seemed to be in a sort of....mourning. The wind blowing through them sang a sad tune, the rain falling upon their vibrant green leaves made them look as if they were crying. Esther took in all of this sad beauty, lowering her head as she stood on all fours. She sighed, lifting her eyes to the sky. A lovely light blue, dotted with many fluffy white clouds. They passed by, so gentle they were, like a newborn foal or a mane in the wind. The screeching of an Eagle woke Esther from her dreamlike trance, making her snap her head over to the source. The majestic Eagle flew above her, flying somewhat lower as he spotted Esther. He screeched once more, a earsplitting screech. "Hello Eagle," Esther said quietly, watching him fly over her. She began to slowly walk with the eagle, following his directions and movement. Soon, Esther was galloping beneath him at almost full speed. She took large strides, her feathered hooves almost unable to be seen. She ran with such grace for her size, her slender body as lithe and gentle as a deer. Her great beauty was un-comparable, her loveliness one of a kind.

She galloped swiftly around Skyherd, her mane of white and black flowing out behind her freely. She looked longingly up at the sky, the Eagle soon lost and forgotten. The clouds, and the birds of the sky have a place, why don't I have one? She pondered, slowing down from tiredness. From within the forest, eyes of deep navy blue watched her.
