shadowflax looked at rocket worried. 'she came from outside i'll go see if i can find the foal' she was panicked and worried and sad and even, though she was ashamed to admit it, a little exicted about going out

Bill who had been standing near by said 'let me go'

Bill trotted out of the valley. shadowflax followed. 'where do you think she is' shadowflax said worried. 'you shouldn't have come' bill sighed. they trotted deeper and deeper in there was the slightest rustle to the left it could be the wind but there was no wind out now. shadowflax stopped and looked. a familiar old she wolf trotted out not bothering to hide. shadowflax looked at her 'do you know where the foal is' she said looking deep into those familiar old eyes. The wolf smiled 'why should i tell you' it chortled. 'greygasa' shadowflax said warningly using the wolfs name.

The wolf looked at her 'what?' graygasa asked in mock inocence. 'I asked where the foal was' shadowflax snarled. The she wolf shrugged 'i can show you' she said. shadowflax didn't ease up 'whats the catch' she asked. the wolf gave her a toothy leering smile 'you.' she laughed 'for 8 years i've tried and tried to kill you but your the only one to evade me. give me your life to save the foals...... the foal will live if you come with me. I do what i want with you wether it be eat you or have some fun' and evil smile crept over her face 'or i'll kill the foal' she cackled. shadowflax stared hard at the wolf 'fine' she breathed.

Bill hadn't expected her to agree. 'NO' he cried shocked. 'shadowflax don't' he pleaded. he jumped between her and the wolf 'please don't do it' he begged.

shadowflax looked at him 'Bill you saved me when i was just a baby. that was enough now let me go.' she nuzzled at his neck trying to gently get him to move 'come and take the foal and make sure she getts back ok' she added. she began to walk.

shadowflax you can't do this' he nearly screamed.

greygasa snapped at him. 10 young wolves emerged from the trees surrounding them. 'don't talk' they warned. they watched shadowflax closely and glanced at greygasa. they knew the evasive mare could get away is she wanted to. greygasa just smiled 'she won't leave will you miss' she said biting at her heals.

'so' shadowflax said. 'what happened? one of my mares came back beat up and terrified and you have her foal' she said it calmly but underneath she could just kill the wolves for hurting sun. she didn't want to ruin the foals chances of survival though.
