"You're... what?!" Theron sounded so indignant, making it all the more difficult for Dài to hold his head high and seem confident about his decision. His ears fell back and he pleadingly met his father's eyes, which, to his surprise; were calm and understanding. "Ambitious young man," he gave Dài a playful shove with a boyish, but weak grin. "I remember when I was your age. I couldn't wait to get out on my own, and explore the world outside of my mother's coddling restraint," He chuckled heartily at the memory. Dài squinted at him.
"So, where will you- ...go?" Kamaria stammered. She and Theron eyed him intently. "I was thinking maybe hangin' around with that old bachelor herd on the hills for a little while, but-" Theron laughed, cutting him off. "Those barbarians? Pah!" he scoffed haughtily, "They should be your last resort!" Dài subtly rolled his eyes. "Yeah, do you have any better ideas I should know about?" Theron bit his lip, "Yeah, uhhh," he nodded, "...Look around a little while, first." he urged.
"So, is this goodbye?" Theron asked as his blue eyes solemnly gazed into Dài's, sharing a brisk, worried glance with Kamaria. Dài nodded.

He staggered to the edge of the territory, his ears drooping as he wearily met the eyes of one stallion. The stallion, tall, big-boned, and handsome, was white with a subtle pastel mint hue, his mane and flagged tail a sleek sea-green. Dài's flashy, colorful pelt stood out amongst the scenery, immediately catching his eye. "Hello over there!" the stallion bellowed, his golden hooves striking the ground in a thunderous roar with every step. He was large and intimidating when he approached Dài, with the conformation of a heavy draught.
"What can I do you for, dear boy?" the enormous unicorn stallion asked, bending his hocks to reach Dài's level. "I-I-I--..." Dài paced backward, to which the stallion chortled heartily.
