"No, I'm not..." She said, the shock slowly going away.

"I should have known. You were a horsie-pet, after all..." he said, relaxing slightly with a snort and shaking out his long mane. "Do you need me to explain them to you?"

Her eyes went stone cold at being called a "pet".

"I had dealings with wild horses before, just have never been in a herd." She looked away. "I was too busy travelling. I was a show horse. 53 gold medals."

He ignored the coldness in her eyes. "I see. Why are you here anyway? I hadn't heard much about your escape to the herds, other than the fact you were owned by humans."

"Because of a flash flood. My entire family was killed because the humans didn't care about us. Among those killed was my son..."

Owl snorted, "Leave her be for now Elkirr, shes new. Give her time."

 

[Zinnia-Hen]

After a single snort escaped his nostrils, Elkirr reared up and gave Owl a kick with his hindleg, to remind him who was the lead stallion. "You do not lead this herd, Owl," he said in quiet tone of voice, that strangely, remained fairly commanding. "Besides. I'm only getting to know her better; I am not harming her in any way, shape, or form."
