Slacker.... LOL

I have 6 hens. One Rhode Island Red, great layer, 1 Ameraucana, good layer, 3 Wyandottes, good layer and 1 Buff Orpington... The sweetest, but the Slacker. They are 9 months old and she hasn't laid her first egg yet. She is so silly. She does get picked on by the others and often won't jump off the roost. I pick her up and set her down, because I have things to do in there. I left her one day, and it took her 3 days to jump down. NO FOOD OR WATER! I couldn't stand it. Anyway, will she lay ever?????

If she did not come down for 3 days, seems there may be some sort of genetic defect with her. . On the 9 months without laying, can be explained that some chickens are slower to get into gear than others. Now that the days are shorter is another influence. Wait until spring and hope for the best. Your other option is to make her your permanent LAP CHICKEN.
