Another update. . .
Last night as I found my girls (AGAIN) up on top of the coop at tuck in time, I figured out that they have gotten so big that they can't comfortably ROOST on their roosting bar. It is not in the smack dab middle of the upper deck in the coop and their big butts don't really fit up on it anymore. I also think that they're maturing some and may want to sleep like big girls now. I guess I'm going to see if DH will try to re-work the inside. He's going to LOVE that. We live in NC. It doesn't get THAT cold here, but I have read that they'll be warmer if they roost. Correct? As opposed to sleeping on the floor during the winter. We plan on having a bulb in there for whatever heat difference that will make, but only to adjust to prolong the hours of daylight. Just want to keep my girls happy so they'll keep us in the egg biz.
