sleeping on roof - born in March

I don't think the coop has nearly enough ventilation, and I didn't see a roost inside it. That's likely why they prefer to use the roof, lots of fresh air and it's the highest spot they can reach
If I got something like this or built something like this, do you think it would be good?

Can I ask you a question? I found plans online to build a coop that is better and also an already made one that looks similar. Do either/both of these look better to you?

If you are in this for the long haul, build a coop.
Prefabs like the second pic have ...... issues. They lack space, ventilation and are made of super soft wood that falls apart really fast.

Make it even easier - build a shed. Roosts and nests go inside, add some ventilation up high, and voila - spacious and easy to maintain coop.

The first is close to that type of build, but still a little lacking in ventilation (which bigger roof overhangs could help with), and the second example is no better than what you currently have.

We ended up building the second one and we put two louvered vents on the sides above the windows and we also drilled 6 1 inch holes in the eve where the roof meets on both sides. Do you think that is enough?

That exact coop or something similar (if not the one shown, then photos would be great as reference). How big are the louvered vents?

Oh just saw the other thread... I thought you bought the super mini coop. So it's the bigger one that you built.

I would've done approx 12"x12" louvered gable vents around where you have the small hole vents, plus more of the same in the back where you have those rectangular vents (you don't necessarily have to remove anything you've already put in, just add on to what you have).
