Sleepy Chicken, please help!

So I went to the vet this morning. I'm not sure this vet really knew much about chickens, but I did get the results of the fecal exam and I think it can really help.

Vet told me there is roundworms and coccidia.

I told her I usually treat with Wazine and Valbazen and she told me she has never heard of Wazine and not to use it. I just wanted to get an opinion from y'all. How should I treat this flock this time around? Just valbazen? (that's what the vet suggested).

For the coccidia she mentioned Albon. I've never heard of it but I have Corrid. Can I treat with that? If so, dosage?

And last question, I have 6 & 8 week old pullets that could have possibly been exposed. Is it okay to treat them too or are they too young? They do not have any symptoms. Only one hen does.

Thanks y'all!

Upon reading more about worming, I am confused on which products to use. I have wazine, valbazen, and ivermectin. Which or which combination should I use? Is it okay for young pullets?

The more I read, the more conflicting advise I get.

Use the Valbazen only.

Yes treat the entire flock with Corid.
I just gave you the doses on your other thread.
I agree that you should use the Valbazen only, Wazine only treats adult roundworms.

I am so glad you had the poop tested!
GOOD JOB!
Thanks y'all!

Thanks! Last question (I think):

Can I use Corrid and Valbazen at the same time?

If not, which should I do first if she has both roundworms and coccidia?

Yes use them both.
Get that Corid in that really sick one ASAP.
Corid is not a medicine it is just something that blocks a certain vitamin...what the Cocci thrive off of.
You should see a big improvement fairly quickly..within a day or two in that really sick girl.
Just treat everyone now, don't wait any longer.

Yes. I used wazine (1 oz per gallon) for one day, and then 10 days later I used valbazen (0.5 mL per chicken). I was under the impression that we do that every 6 months.
(We thought they might have had tapeworm back in April, but we haven't noticed anything unusual about their poop et

Do y'all think a normal vet will do a fecal test on chicken poop? I've been having trouble finding a bird vet near us.
Go to Association of Avian Veterinarians. Type Texas in the search option. By doing this I found about 10-15 Avian vets within a 50 mile radius of me. The closest being 20 miles away. Took my rooster there and now I'm not considered a "new patient" so they'll see me almost anytime. http://aav.site-ym.com/search/newsearch.asp
