Thank you for reading I have a rock that seems to be sleeping all the time she walks around and pecks at the ground but then sits down and takes a nap untill one of the other girls disturbs her. She is about 5months old i have had her for about what cone she does have looks fine she wont let me catch her so I cant get a good look at her vent she seems to be eating and drinking okay I was just wondering if anyone has seen this before

Have you considered coccidiosis ? Def check for lice, mites and what colour her comb is. Also check the house at night for red mites as they can make a hen lethargic due to anemia .
having said that chickens do spend a lot of time napping, especially in the sun

Okay ill check her tonight and change there beding she still seemed to be happy and free rangeing with the rest of the girlsi evan saw her eat some grass but she would just stop and take a nap for a second or two

Chickens frequently power nap, especially when they are still young. Some like to do it more than others. But definitely do what Stiggy said first...it's always a good idea to check first to rule out illness.

Well i am relieved that it is probably just a lazy chicken lol but I will definitely still check her for bugs and change there beding in the coop and re treat with de thank you all for your quick replys

Well I checked checkers and the other hens for bugs and changed there bedding I dident see anything out of the ordinary. Checkers is eating and drinking from what I can see I think I just have a lazy barred rock on my hands....... im okay with that
