I spent time sitting on the floor of the coop with them. When this chick hopped up on me, I didnt try to touch her...I let her get used to climbing on me without feeling threatened by my hands. After she seemed comfortable walking around on me, I started moving my hands closer to her...within a day or 2, I was resting my hand, palm up next to her...then I started using one finger to touch her and I moved it away if she was bothered. After a short amount of time, she let me pet her...once she trusted me, she let me pet her all the time and she realized that she really likes it! Now she is a snuggle-bug. I had about 2 weeks with her snuggling up to me and now I have another one that gets in my shoulder to sleep and likes to be carried around. I still have 3 of my 9 chicks that don't want me touching them. Hoping to win them over it time. It's really rewarding! How do you get them to be so friendly?
She does. I have another chick that likes to sit on my shoulder (and on my head!) and every time that chick jumps up, this chick runs over and jumps on me and starts chirping up a storm and acting nervous. I feel bad for her because she is a big snuggler and with all of them becoming more and more friendly, I cant give her the time that she has been used to having.Nice photos! Looks like she REALLY loves you.

Basically....lots of time and patience and I let them come to me on their terms. Once they trust you, you cant keep them off of you.![]()
