I have a 5 month old silkie pullet who goes through periods every now and then where she'll be very sleepy for a day or two, and then be just fine.
On the days she's sleepy, it's like she's drugged with sleeping pills or has pulled an all-nighter.
She sleeps when you put her down, goes back to sleep after you pick her up & are carrying her, and goes to sleep right after you put her down again.
She usually tucks her head under her wing, sometimes standing up. She wakes to feed & drink occasionally, then does it again.
If you wake her up by blowing on her face or shining a light in her eyes or putting her on a perch, she wakes up & looks peeved.
Then when you stop she goes back to sleep again. Seems totally healthy otherwise, which is why I didn't list the question in Emergencies & Diseases.
Her eyes look shiny, her feathers are good, her weight is perfect, and she was bouncing & dancing yesterday during free-range time. She'll probably bounce again tomorrow.

Crop is empty. I've massaged it. No bad breath, no regurgitation, no mushy feel.

Edit: Now it's Day 2 and she's still just as sleepy. She has voluntarily drunk some water from a bowl & is isolated in my office in a crate. She walked out of the crate earlier & fell asleep on the wood floor, still standing, head tucked.
She lets me feed her yoghurt with a baby spoon but keeps falling asleep in it.
She's very feisty & fighty when I try to give her vitamins/electrolytes in an eyedropper.
She stays standing but keeps on sleeping. When I wake her, she coos to me. She falls right asleep again.

What is this?

She's not laying yet. Nor is her sister of the same age.
They all sleep together in a pen in the basement at night & go out in the not-quite-raccoon-proof run during the day. She foraged a bit in the woods 2 days ago with her flock. I was watching them.
No mushrooms around, but moss, pine needles, leaves, old wood, possibly with mold.

Any ideas?

Red mites or lice? I had some chickens get lethargic and *ick* found red mites on them later.

She's a white silkie. I've looked around her head & vent under the fluff to check her general health, but where would they congregate most? Lice are white, right?

I think so. mine had red mites, which I might have missed if I hadnt been super-snuggling Fugly Duckling Roo. I felt the egg sacks under my fingers.
