I got lots of chicks this past Thursday from Ideal. They are all doing great, expect for this one chick, she just wanted to sleep all the time. I was getting pretty worried about her, I'd dip her beak into the water to get her to drink and then she'd just go over by the light and sleep all day long. Last night, I thought she was dead, so I asked my DH to get her out (I don't touch dead things) he picked her up and was about to put her in the bag and then stopped and said that she was still alive. I couldn't believe it. She wouldn't move or open her eyes (she is able to, just wouldn't) and was very wet. I brought her in and put a heating pad in a big bowl and put her in it. I was up all night (litteraly) checking on her and giving her sugar water and wet chick food through a surenge (sp?). She is deffinetly doing better now, she will open her eyes when I wake her up, and she is able to stand up and chirp some. But she still sleeps all the time! And will not eat or drink on her own. What is going on with her????
