Slightly insulted, very amused

I told them that school vacations were never a problem as my mother takes her. But that "sudden" snow days that the school is closed could be a problem. I have been a SAHM for the last 6 years. I did this because I dont trust people, even other providers who I know.

I honestly dont think the job is a good fit for me. Sure I can do it with my eyes closed. But I also refuse to work for a company that will be pissy if my child is sick, there is a sudden death(or three) in the family, or the schools close due to the roads being unsafe.

When I worked at Harvard people brought in their dogs to work on a daily basis. I never did, but could and should have. Moms would bring their kids in during school breaks, snow days and sick days. Not my fave on the sick days. I mean come on. Now the entire office is really going to get it.

But it is a small company. I would have my own office. I could do most of the work from home on days that I couldnt be there.

Either way.. something will turn up. Even if it isnt the job that pushed me aside because I am a mom that actually gives a rats behind about her child. Maybe they just arent used to that. Ya know. A parent that actually likes being with their child and doesnt want to shove it off on someone else

I've been the 3rd choice twice. If you aren't comfortable taking the job - and you don't sound it to me - then if you can live without it don't take it. Just take pride in the fact that they did call you back and offer it to you.
