You know how when you leave strawberries or raspberries in the fridge too long, and they're still fine to eat, but nobody really wants to eat them because they're kinda mushy? Not moldy ones or anything, just the ones that the humans don't want to eat anymore. Are those still ok for chickens?

I give my chickens "10 weeks and older" any fruit or veggie that is past prime, but not moldy. No green potatoes or avocado skins or pits.
Around here it's usually apples cut in half and whole grapes.
I used to cut grapes in half, but after witnessing small toads being swallowed whole "twice" by my Golden Comets, I no longer cut up berries or grapes for the adults.

I have blackberry bushes on my property that my chickens will eat when free ranging, if I don't notice them first. GC

I don't tend to get old produce sitting around (I keep a clean fridge!) but doesn't mean chickens can't still get their strawberry fix. Just give them the strawberry tops.

I also grow strawberries but the dog probably eats more than the chickens do. :p
