I already posted about my chicken not being able to walk or stand - after some more research, I believe my chicken has a slipped tendon. There is tons of info on here (none very optimistic) but all of it is for young chicks. Mine is a 8 week old barred rock. She is on commercial starter feed and electrolytes in the water. All the other 10 chickens are fine, so I don't know if it could be a vitamin deficiency or not. I suppose I should have checked the feed bag for an expiration date. Right now she is isolated with her own feed and water and occassionally yogurt and got 2 baby aspirins over the last day (seemed to help).

Anyways, the hock is VERY swollen and hot, and she is sitting on it. I saw links for making chairs, but again, all for small chicks.

I need some honest opinions - does she have much of a chance being as old as she is? Anyone ever make one of those chairs for a larger chick/pullet? I can't feel anything out of place, but everything is so swollen, I will try the pull the leg back technique I just read about and see what happens.

Thank you.

do not pull the leg back yet. first take care of the infection on the hock. that is the big mistake people make. first take the infection away before pulling the leg back.
