Slipped tendon help!

He is professional. You're getting advice from an expert and we're so lucky to have him

If the swelling has gone down and it has full range of motion I would leave the tape on and forgo the splint and chair.
When I unwrapped him to do his therapies last night, it was a bit more swollen, but I still was able to flex the leg properly and then I put him back in the splint and chair.
Last night, once again, I woke up every hour and a half and every time I found him standing on one leg outside of his throne, which was concerning. I after three attempts at immobilizing him, at 4 am, I bit the bullet and took off his original straight splint towards one shaped like you have that would give him some joint mobility and still keep the leg supported. Redid his enclosure and waited for two hours to see what he would do.
He’s standing! I don’t know that he’s putting all weight normally on his little leg, but it’s a huge improvement. I put a rolled up towel around him to help support, avoid too much movement and make him feel a little more secure, as he was trying to walk backwards, and went back to bed for another bit. I am exhausted at this point, but I don’t care, it’s worth the try.
I woke up to him sleeping in his little nest. He ate and drank. Cleaned his siblings and took care of my other pets, and now I am back to work. I work from home so I have them all day next to me to check, luckily. Now I am waiting for him to wake up again to unwrap and see how we’re looking today. I’ll post more updates.
Thank you again for being such an amazing support and riding this ride with me.

Here are some pics :)

Not good news. The tendon has slipped again 😫😫😫 and the swelling is back.
Back to square 0.
So now Bean is a little birbito, immobilized again.
This time i placed both legs straight back and I put a splint on the healthy leg too, so he doesn’t move.
Do you think I should tape him down into a chair again instead?

That is about all you can do at this point. Notice that my splint put pressure on the side of the joint to hold the tendon in place, that is important. Keeping the leg straight back will relax the tendon and the Meloxicam will help with the swelling as well as the pain, and keeping him drugged will keep him calm as well. In the beginning I offered no false hope but you seem to be tenacious enough to make this work.

I’m not giving up on my little guy. Thank you for your encouraging words.

Update day 3. The night went smoothly, but he decided he had enough of the confinement at 6.15 so he managed to slip out of his wing bandage and flapped for a few seconds around the enclosure. Luckily I was awake and got him almost immediately. We just did therapies (on both legs this time, since I had to immobilize the other one too to keep him still.
I noticed quite the loss of muscle in the thigh of the injured leg, I am sure it’s for lack of use, so I stretched that too and made him hold some pressure on it.
The whole therapy session lasted about 20 minutes, I hope that’s enough, but I am planning to do the thigh therapy more than twice a day since it doesn’t involve taking off any bandage.
The knee looked a little less swollen, but the swollen part didn’t feel as fluid anymore, it feels kind of callous, is that normal? Hopefully it’s just the joint reconstructing.
I’ll be out of pain killers Sunday morning. Not sure what to do after that. I couldn’t find a vet to write another prescription.
Little Bean is now resting exhausted. He keeps trying to push himself forward with his toes and his fingers get stuck in whatever I try to put underneath in an awkward position. I’m trying with a sheet of paper now.
All I can do is try…

Anyone want to play guess the gender with me with the other two chicks? Their names are Lentil and Garbanzo, hoping it’s a boy and a girl. LoL
