Hi all,
I am reposting this because I really need help. I have a week and a half old duckling. I noticed she is not getting around well, lays down a lot, and is wobbly. Today I saw her hock joint (??) on one foot is enlarged (see pic below) and she won't put weight on it. Does this sound like niacin deficiency? I went to the local feed store today and get a Durvet Vitamin and electrolyte supplement for their water. I also got sav-a-chick. Can I add that to the water with the other supplement?
If not a niacin issue, could it be a slipped tendon? It almost looks like her hock joint is bruised and that leg is peeling a bit...
Any insight would be appreciated as I already love my little Penelope and want her to live. If it isn't corrected within a couple days, is culling her the best idea to prevent suffering?
Thanks,
Hilary
