Slipped Tendon?

Hi all,

I am reposting this because I really need help. I have a week and a half old duckling. I noticed she is not getting around well, lays down a lot, and is wobbly. Today I saw her hock joint (??) on one foot is enlarged (see pic below) and she won't put weight on it. Does this sound like niacin deficiency? I went to the local feed store today and get a Durvet Vitamin and electrolyte supplement for their water. I also got sav-a-chick. Can I add that to the water with the other supplement?

If not a niacin issue, could it be a slipped tendon? It almost looks like her hock joint is bruised and that leg is peeling a bit...

Any insight would be appreciated as I already love my little Penelope and want her to live. If it isn't corrected within a couple days, is culling her the best idea to prevent suffering? :(

Thanks,
Hilary

Sometimes you can run you fingers down the back of the leg and feel the tendon out of place and try and slip it back in. Here is some info https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...of-slipped-tendons-in-bantam-duckling.987977/

I’ve never had to deal with this but if you can feel the tendon is slipped out you maybe able to put it back and wrap for a few days? I will tag @Isaac 0 and hopefully he has experience with this.
@HollowOfWisps ever had this with any of your ducklings?

Thank you both, I appreciate it! I was feeling her leg and I didn't feel anything that was slipped out of place. Maybe it's too swollen now? I just don't know what the bruising is and almost looks like a spot of black (bumblefoot-esq even) right on the joint. Maybe that's from scooting on that leg too much? I don't know. When I walk feeling her foot it doesn't seem to bother her or hurt. She doesn't seem in pain even, just can't walk well.

With the swelling, you may not be able to feel it. Is a vet an option they would be able to tell if it's a slipped tendon and treat? You could try some nice warm Epsom salt wraps on the leg.
