Slow Growing White Broiler as a Pet?

Hey guys! I bought four chicks yesterday from a feed store. I bought a slow growing white broiler and was told they can be kept as pets, but everything I find online is about them being food and being killed at 7-8 months. Can I keep him as a pet, or is he going to die early too?

I do! She actually has grown up beautifully. She grew a bit faster than our other babies but she slowed down as she got bigger. She's the same size as the others her age and just as active!
