Well, as I posted in another thread (double posting, I know) We are supposed to be buying 10 acres with a house and 4 outbuildings. Now you go figure why when we have 243 acres with a house and 2 outbuildings (not counting my chicken stuff) that would excite me. 180 acres in timber, 50 acres in levee pasture (no permanent structures, no electricity, no running water, away from house. 10 acres water, That leaves me with 3 acres my house is on, and when the Mississippi River decides to leave its banks, I have water running under my house. So my husband is constantly worrying about all my chickens and what a circus its going to be when the water comes up again. (might not do it in ten years, might do it three years in a row.) And, last time, several pieces of his shop tools went under. So I will have a place to put more chickens, turkeys, and quail. And the ones I keep here I will have a place to take them when the water comes up. He will have a place the set up a shop without worrying about having to move a thousand pound lathe. We don't really want to move at this point, but it will be nice to have a house when we get tired of climbing 20 stairs to the elevated house and boating in and out when the river is up. I'm not sure what we're going to do with it until then. And on each end of the property there is a septic tank, water and electrical hookup for a house trailer. I sure hope this deal goes through!
