No I have big hands! The egg is HUGE I swear! I've never seen a quail egg in person before so I am SHOCKED at how big it really is, almost the size of one of my pullet eggs the other day.


Maybe she waited so long to start laying so she could give me a big one!

I saw the male breeding her the other day so I stuck it in my incubator.

It's most likely a jumbo double yolk starter egg, They range from dime size to....Oh My GOD! How did that big thing come out of that little bird!

They will level things off when they get some age on them

Just some basic coturnix. Roos sexually mature between 3-5 weeks old. They will roo anything, including your hand if you present it at the right time....It's a foamy mess, don't get me started.....Then the hens kick in at around 8 weeks. Somewhere around 8-12 weeks, the hens settle down and start laying fertile normal size eggs.

She's right on time then, she was 12 weeks and 3 days old yesterday.
