Hello,
I haven't posted here for a while. but I am getting baby chicks shipped from Cackle Hatchery. So I did my research and they reassured me that they can travel from Missouri to Arizona since they have up to 72 worth of egg yolk in their system. So they were shipped first thing Monday, at 12 they were at Lebanon post office and at 2PM they were in Kansas City ready to be flown my way. Today tracking shows"in transit to destination" no info on where they are and this info is very frustrating and useless to me.
Anyhow what is worrying me is that tracking says they will arrive Thursday! To me from Monday to Thursday is 4 days but when I chatted with Cackle they said it's 3 days and was reassured that they have gel and some food in the box. I am still worried and ****** off, also because I was reading people who were shipped chicks to Puerto Rico or Alaska and they arrived in 2 days.
Cackle say to not worry that they will reimburse me for any losses, but that is not the point! I don't want to feel guilty for putting these poor babies through such a hardship! I plan to arrive at the post office ASAP as soon as they call but the post office is about 30 minutes away from my home and its a bumpy ride being in the country.
Has anybody had chicks shipped in 4 days? Should I give them water in the car? Being bumpy I am afraid the water could spill and they would get chilled. Any advice?
