slug mystery - how do they get in my kitchen

Do you have dogs or cats? My dogs sometime bring in slugs because they're running around wet grass in the evening, and then the slugs stick to the fur and drop off once inside.

Otherwise the only time I see them in the kitchen is when I bring in vegetables from the garden and slugs and some other creepy crawlies will hitch a ride in that way.

actually i have a dog yes

and this is why nobody should ever let dogs sleep in their bed with them…

:barnie this is why writers need editors! They don't get in by "opening doors and windows!" They get in "by way of open doors and windows."

But ... I'm finding slugs in my well house, which has NO windows, and the only time the door is opened is when I go in to get scratch for the chickens. I certainly don't invite them in with me! So tell me, how are MY slugs getting in? They must be crawling in through the crack under the door, yes? Thanks for the tip about the salt, I will certainly give it a try. I've tried tossing these little meat packages to my chickens but they just look at them with zero interest.
