I have tossed twice now a slug for my month old chicks and they wont touch it. They have found a worm or 2 and went nuts on it.

Yes, same here. My chickens wouldn't dare eat a slug but last night we had sever rainstorms and I let my hens out in the morning. There was feeding frenzy on the driveway, sadly to say there were no worm survivors.

give them time, they will probably learn to love them. I fed my chicks worms and they went nuts for them, several months later they would not tough worms. Now they kill for worms, go figure.

We trap slugs in little bead dishes using the cheapest beer we could find. Slugs love beer. They get drunk and drown. Drain the beer off in the morning--the chicks love marinated slug.

Great idea? But what are "little bead dishes?"
