Slushie and Chubby are gone. gone forever

We haven't even gotten the traps. We are still keeping the boys in the garage at night, and letting them in a secure pen, or out to free range when we are with them. i let them out to free range, and they put themselves back into their pen. the wildlife place where we are trying to get the traps keeps telling us we need to know what we're trapping. we told them weasels that got our pekins. they said weasels were too small, that it was fisher cat. but a fisher cat would have torn slushie to pieces. it was a weasel, and my mom just told me she saw the weasels this winter. we keep fighting with the wildlife place saying we need a trap for a WEASEL.

The most effective death trap I have found for weasels was a old fashioned Rat Trap (like a giant mouse trap) We would attach them to posts with the bait pan to the bottom and the spring bar to the top. That way when it climbs after the bait the spring bar catches them in the neck or spine. Good weasel = dead weasel. The leg traps sold to the fur trappers catch legs which the animal often leaves behind in the trap. Sorry to be so graphic but that is how I see it.

thanks. we got the rat trap, we are going to get the bait soon. we were told the most effective bait is chicken liver? they said to dripple the blood in front of the trap. i'm kinda afraid of that part, but if it saves my ducks, then whatever it takes.

my grandma just sent me a card. it says...
"A pet is a special part of your family who will always have a special place in your heart. They are gone from our sight...but never out of memory. gone from our hearing...but never our hearts. gone from our touch...but their presence is felt. and the love that they gave us never departs."
I start crying my eyes out and i'm still crying. its just so hard. i've been visiting slushie's grave multiple times a day. i picked some flowers and layed them on her grave. i miss her and chubby so much.
